How long is an LEI number valid?

An LEI number is valid for one year from the date of issue or renewal. It must be renewed annually to remain active. With a multi-year package, we manage the annual renewals throughout the chosen period.

What happens if my LEI has lapsed?

If your LEI has lapsed, its reference data is no longer current. Renew it before a transaction where your bank, broker or reporting obligation requires an up-to-date LEI record. We send our customers a reminder 60 days before the renewal date.

How do I renew my LEI number?

Does my LEI number or its data change during a transfer?

The LEI number stays the same. If the transfer includes a renewal, any confirmed changes to the company’s reference data are updated. Only the provider managing the LEI changes.
